Why recycle headphones?
Americans throw out between 300 and 400 million electronic devices every year, making the U.S. the world's second-largest producer of e-waste. Nearly 60% of Americans threw away one or more electronic device rather than recycling it — and headphones are consistently one of the top three items discarded.
Collect
Mail-in kits and school & office drop-off boxes for broken, outdated or unwanted headphones and earbuds.
Sort
Every unit is graded by hand: working sets are cleaned and re-homed, the rest are queued for de-manufacturing.
Recover
Plastics, copper voice coils, foam and rare-earth magnets are separated and routed to certified processors.
From drop-off to diversion
Send it in
Ship with a prepaid mail-in kit or use a partner drop-off box.
Hand-inspected
Every unit is tested and graded for reuse, repair or recovery.
Second life or recovery
Working sets are cleaned and donated; the rest are de-manufactured.
Diversion reported
Schools and offices receive a landfill-diversion summary.
